Have you heard the BIG news? The Little Sisters of the Poor are renovating Sacred Heart Residence to meet the needs of our elderly Residents.
As you know, the Little Sisters care for the elderly poor, most of whom have nowhere else to go. We care for them like family until God calls them to himself. We can do this ministry of care because of you.
What is the renovation plan?
One wing of our Home will be remodeled to include 17 apartments for Residents who need independent living space and a dining area and a coffee shop/ice cream parlor, which will be open to all the Residents of our Home.
By adding 17 apartments, we can serve Residents who don’t yet require nursing care, but have economic, social, dietary and other resource needs. If their health changes, these Residents can transition to our nursing units.
The renovation will help us address the shortage of nursing staff. While the nursing shortage is a national problem, here at Sacred Heart Home it affects our ability to provide our Residents with the standard of care they deserve. Providing independent living options will relieve the need for nursing care for some Residents.
To make this critical improvement happen, your help will be needed. We need to raise $3 million. Can you make a donation now?
Thank you for your previous support. Your commitment to the renovation project will be an investment in Sacred Heart Residence for years to come.
We have prayed over the decision to upgrade Sacred Heart Residence. We are convinced the renovation is an important need and worthy of your support. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
With your help, we will continue the tradition of care that began in 1839 by our foundress, Saint Jeanne Jugan.
