Our Home’s upgrade is finally complete, and it looks beautiful! The remodel transformed one wing of our Home into seventeen apartments for elderly persons able to benefit from independent living space. These upgrades will allow us to better serve those older adults in need who don’t yet require nursing care.
The apartments are named in honor of Father Ernest Lelievre, a French priest and a contemporary of St. Jeanne Jugan, who devoted his life to the service of the poor. Father Lelievre gave his life in the service of the Little Sisters congregation during its first decades of existence and helped in many of their foundations.
Along with the new apartments, the wing also includes a dining area and a coffee shop/ice cream parlor open to our Residents and their families. The apartments were blessed on May 28, and we are excited for this new chapter at Sacred Heart Residence! Thank you to everyone who helped make this renovation possible with your donations, prayers, and support!
